Sake Elzinga
Trained at the photo school in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands.
After five years mainly technical experience, since 1982 working as an independent photographer.
His home base is Assen, The Netherlands.
Elzinga’s field of activity is broad: from current politics to sports and to art and culture; the assignments are regional, national and international.
Since 1987 he has been one of the regular photo correspondents for the NRC Handelsblad.
Sake Elzinga is a regular participant in important group and solo exhibitions.
Many publications are illuminated with his photos.
Awards
In 1996 he received the Fuji Award for his series on Chernobyl.
World Press Photo Award sport, 2th place 1990.
The first prize in the documentary category Netherlands in the Zilveren Camera Award Camera in 1994 and the first prize in the category Art, culture, architecture and technology in the Zilveren Camera Award in 2001.
